I don't remember when I first met Mog The Forgetful Cat. It's as if I've always known her. I definitely read her to the older children, and I'm loving having the chance to introduce her all over again. It's a simple book with unfussy illustrations. Slinky Malinki is from Lynley Dodd of Hairy Maclairy fame. And this is the same sort of thing - an animal, and a rhyme. Sounds so simple. Is actually so wonderful. The rhymes are not at all contrived, but keep you reading along at a good pace, although there's plenty of room for suspense as you build up to the moment of denouement.
