Grumpy cat. Britta Teckentrup

grumpy catThis is picture strong and word light, and the cats are cats, rather than cat shaped people if you see what I mean.

Although I suppose it’s arguable as to whether cats feel lonely.

Anyway. I really like the simplicity of this, and also that the resolution isn’t as a result of grumpy cat changing his ways, it’s just coincidental that a kitten who doesn’t know that he’s grumpy finds him and starts to befriend him. The pictures are great – they look collaged almost? Suspect it’s the sort of thing that children might like to try making after they’ve read it. Definitely one to add to the wishlist once it goes back to the library.

Also a good one for reading and then discussing if you’ve got a child who doesn’t mix quite so well, but would like to – it might set some cogs whirring.
