This is a great readaloud bedtime book. Got more than one child? You’re likely to have had sharing issues at some point. Sidney and Stella don’t have sharing issues. They just don’t share. Which results in bad things happening. InSidney, Stella and the Moon the victim is the moon. There are some fantastic visuals, particularly with the fold out double page spread of the morning after the night before. There’s also lots to talk about in the search for a new moon – easy to build in some discussion of circles and so on if you’re wanting to be educational.
Lots of great discussion points in this about all sorts of things, but the best bit is it’s a fun story, easy to read over and over again. Which is my preferred method for learning anyway.
It’s got: an implausibly bouncy ball
It’s not: a good starting point for basic physics.
