I don't remember when I first met Mog The Forgetful Cat. It's as if I've always known her. I definitely read her to the older children, and I'm loving having the chance to introduce her all over again. It's a simple book with unfussy illustrations. Milo's pet egg is all about Milo finding a breathing stone and deciding he'll look after it. He does all sorts of things - climbing, rolling, diving, swinging and generally has a day full of fun. Mr Gumpy's Outing by John Burningham is a book I think I first read to Big over a decade ago. It's timeless - as he punts his way down the river picking up passengers as he goes.
