Tonight’s bedtime book was Good days, bad days
by the Anholts. This is low on words, but big on pictures, lots to look at and talk about as you go.
(You may want to gloss over the hamster cage. Smallest thought it was a music player. Useful misdirection.)
The book does rhyme. That’s almost incidental if you’re reading it slowly enough to enjoy the pictures. Or perhaps like us you’ll manage several read throughs, so you’ll get to play with the language after you’ve enjoyed the pictures. Although there’s so much detail that it’s a book that’s worth tooking away and enjoying over and over.
It’s got: kites and snow and school and fun
It’s not: missing anything out.
