The Moon Flower Fairies by Oakley Graham and Patricia Yuste

Moon Flower Fairies book cover

Moon Flower Fairies is a rhyming picture book about little fairies born in flowers when the moon is high, who look after plants, and are helped by furry friends to look their best before they go to the moon palace where they weave dreams.

The pictures are pretty. The rhymes aren’t terribly strained. I don’t understand why moon flower fairies are only girls – something that my 5 year old noticed, and I daresay the 2 year old will be upset by at some point. (He doesn’t like being excluded.) There’s not a lot to be said for this negative, or positive I’m afraid, it’s a pretty book, but not destined for greatness.
